Correctional Officer

Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office is seeking part-time a Corrections Officer to fill a vacancy in the Piscataquis County Jail in Dover-Foxcroft. The Piscataquis County jail is seeking individuals to be part of a team which completes the receiving and processing of all new inmates; maintains records; makes periodic checks on living quarters; conducts headcount at all meals and lock up; operates and inspects security devices; supervises inmate visits; enforces inmate rules and regulations and other duties as assigned. The starting rate of pay for the part-time correctional officer position is $20.00 an hour and additional compensation maybe given in consideration with relevant experience. Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Piscataquis County background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of nineteen years of age Drivers license High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in criminal justice or related fields is a plus.
