Job Description
Coordinate and provide community corrections program focused on case management of incoming participants, program completion and successful re-entry into the community. Leading lower level workers distinguishes this job class from P560-Community Corrections Officer and performing specialized casework. For more information regarding this program, please visit Public Service Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid Essential Function Examples Manage and support participants who have been mandated into alternative sentencing programs or/and released back into the community. Maintain personal contact with persons under supervision through office, virtual and community contacts, along with collateral contacts. Assess risk level of persons under supervision and develop a blend of strategies for controlling and correcting risk. Refer persons under supervision to appropriate outside agencies such as medical, treatment services, programming, employment, community service and training. Facilitate programs to promote successful reintegration into the community while adhering to legal orders and terms of release. Supervise high risk offenders and serve as Alternative Court Coordinator for participants that present a higher complexity of potential harm to the safety of the community. Partner with criminal justice and law enforcement entities for offenders' court reporting, court appearances, progress, compliance and case recommendations. Coordinate with external providers to develop treatment plans that address offending behavior. Calculate release dates and connect participants to community resources and services prior to release. Adhere to department goals and procedures in executing treatment plans and classes for alternative sentencing, rehabilitative and restorative program services. Marginal Function Examples Act as a mentor for subordinate staff. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one year of related experience.
ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT
: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.HOW TO APPLY
