Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Detention Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, security, and order within detention facilities. Your proactive approach and strong sense of responsibility will ensure the well-being of inmates, staff, and visitors alike. This dynamic position offers an opportunity to serve the community while developing essential skills in law enforcement, conflict management, and security operations. As a Detention Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with facility protocols and safeguarding the integrity of detention processes. Responsibilities Monitor detainees through CCTV surveillance systems to ensure safety and security within the facility. Conduct regular patrols and visual inspections of detention areas, ensuring all security measures are upheld. Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances, applying conflict management techniques to de-escalate situations. Maintain accurate records by writing detailed reports on detainee behavior, incidents, and daily activities. Enforce facility rules and regulations while supervising inmate movements and activities. Provide first aid or CPR when necessary, ensuring immediate response to medical emergencies. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or transfer procedures as required. Experience Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or detention facilities is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of CCTV operation and surveillance techniques. Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. Experience in report writing with attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with security protocols, law enforcement procedures, or detention operations is a plus. Pay:
$18.50 per hour
