Job Description

Correctional Officer - Missouri River Correctional Center (MRCC) Are you ready for a challenging and rewarding career where your work directly impacts individuals, communities, and public safety across North Dakota? The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking Correctional Officers to join the team at the Missouri River Correctional Center (MRCC) as part of the facility's continued expansion and growth within its minimum-custody operations. Correctional Officers play a critical role in maintaining safety, building professional relationships, and supporting positive change within our correctional facilities. We're looking for individuals who are confident, dependable, observant, and able to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. As a Correctional Officer, you will supervise and interact with residents using dynamic security principles focused on communication, observation, accountability, and pro-social role modeling. Officers work as part of a high-functioning team while helping maintain a safe and structured environment for staff, residents, and the communities we serve. Successful candidates demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, integrity, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. No prior corrections experience? No problem. The ND DOCR provides paid training and ongoing professional development.
