Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Corrections Officer to uphold safety and security within our juvenile detention facility. This vital role involves supervising youth, maintaining order, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, visitors, and detainees. The ideal candidate will be energetic, vigilant, and committed to fostering a positive atmosphere while enforcing court policies and procedures. Main Responsibilities Supervise and monitor youth in detention to ensure compliance with rules and safety protocols Conduct regular security checks using both physical visual inspections of the facility and utilizing security cameras. Respond promptly to incidents or disturbances, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations and proper physical handling when necessary. Maintain accurate records through report writing, documenting daily activities, incidents, and observations. Assist with emergency procedures. Enforce security measures such as access control, video surveillance, and perimeter checks. Collaborate with law enforcement personnel during investigations or emergencies. Experience Prior experience in law enforcement, security, military service, or similar roles is highly desirable Knowledge of security systems is preferred Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively Report writing abilities with attention to detail with all documentation Familiarity with juvenile justice procedures or detention operations is a plus Join us in making a meaningful difference by ensuring a safe environment where youth can receive proper guidance and support. Pay:
From $23.73 per hour
