Our mission is to attract high-quality, highly motivated, and goal-oriented candidates to become future leaders of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. All Hamilton County Deputies begin their careers in the Jail Services Division, where they obtain 360 hours of paid training within their first year of assignment. Upon successful completion of the training and other departmental requirements, officers will complete their probationary period. Working in the Jail provides valuable experience, knowledge, and communication to prepare Deputies to advance in their careers. A Correction Officer processes inmates in/out of the Jail, maintaining all paperwork necessary to the process; verifies all court commitments, warrants to discharge & other orders of the court; schedules all inmate transportation between the Hamilton County Jail and other detention facilities; fingerprints inmates; photographs all incoming inmates; searches inmates according to established procedures segregating as necessary and assigning/admitting inmates to cell blocks. They supervise all inmates visually and/or by closed-circuit TV in all areas of the Jail for their well-being & the security of the facility; supervise trustees in their work assignments; administer medication; issues jail/bed clothing; provides commissary items; and administer to all other needs of inmates as may be required. Coordinate inmate movement inside and/or outside of Jail; arrange for medical/dental appointments, court appearances, professional evaluations, and any other required transportation; arrange telephone calls & visitation for inmates. Experience:
One (1) year of experience performing public safety, security, corrections, or customer service duties, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Requirements:
High School graduate or GED equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age, of good moral character Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving immoral character (theft, DV, etc.) or any felony Must be drug-free for a minimum of 12 months Must submit to a criminal and personal background check Be in good physical condition and free from any medical conditions that would interfere with the responsibilities of a Corrections Officer Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language Must pass written examination, physical fitness assessment, and medical examination

BODY PIERCING OR ALTERATION
Body piercing or alteration to any area of the body that is visible and is a deviation from normal anatomical features and that is not medically required is prohibited.
