LEFLORE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER

TEAM LEAD
(LIEUTENANT) Job Summary The Team Lead (Lieutenant) is responsible for supervising detention staff, coordinating daily operations, ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures, and maintaining the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise Sergeants, Jail Training Officers, Booking Officers, and Detention Officers. Oversee daily jail operations and staff assignments. Ensure compliance with detention center policies, state regulations, and applicable laws. Conduct inspections and review reports for accuracy and completeness. Respond to emergencies and critical incidents. Investigate inmate and staff incidents as assigned. Assist with scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. Maintain professional communication with administration and outside agencies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous corrections and supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
ASSISTANT LEAD
(SERGEANT) Job Summary The Assistant Lead (Sergeant) assists the Lieutenant with the supervision of detention staff and daily operations while ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise assigned detention personnel during shifts. Ensure staff compliance with facility policies and procedures. Monitor inmate housing areas and activities. Assist with incident investigations and documentation. Conduct shift briefings and staff accountability checks. Respond to emergencies and security concerns. Prepare reports and maintain accurate records. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prior corrections experience preferred. Leadership and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
JAIL TRAINING OFFICER
(JTO) Job Summary The Jail Training Officer is responsible for training, mentoring, and evaluating newly hired detention personnel to ensure they meet facility standards and perform duties safely and effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Train new employees on facility policies, procedures, and security practices. Demonstrate proper inmate supervision and control techniques. Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback. Ensure compliance with state and facility training requirements. Maintain training documentation and reports. Assist supervisors with identifying training needs. Promote professionalism and accountability among staff. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Corrections experience required. Strong communication and instructional skills. Ability to lead by example and maintain professional standards.
BOOKING OFFICER
Job Summary The Booking Officer is responsible for processing inmates into and out of the detention center while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with facility procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process inmate admissions and releases. Verify identification, warrants, and court documentation. Conduct inmate intake screenings and property inventories. Enter and maintain inmate information in facility databases. Handle inmate property according to policy. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and court personnel. Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Computer and data-entry skills preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with inmates, staff, and the public. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
DETENTION OFFICER
Job Summary The Detention Officer is responsible for the custody, care, supervision, and security of inmates housed within the LeFlore County Detention Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise inmates and maintain security within assigned areas. Conduct security checks and inmate counts. Enforce facility rules, regulations, and policies. Monitor inmate behavior and document incidents. Assist with inmate transportation and movement. Respond to emergencies and security situations. Complete reports and required documentation. Maintain a safe and professional environment for staff and inmates. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to pass applicable background checks. Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
