Job Description

Ensures safety, order, and control of inmates housed in the community hospitals and all other duties assigned by the Division of Security Management. Inspects posts to ensure proper performance of duties. Is up to date on security status of inmates assigned to the hospital. Ensures control of security keys/equipment at the community hospital. Prepares, submits, and reviews operational and administrative reports. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license.
Tattoos:
Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Must pass a physical exam administered by SCDC. Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy within six (6) months of entry into this position. Must have one (1) year of experience working in a medium/maximum correctional setting. Prefer 18 months' work experience in correctional, security, or police work, one (1) year of which is in a medium/maximum correctional setting.
