Job Description

With multiple residential facilities across two states, our mission is to empower young individuals to achieve their goals and successfully reintegrate into society. Summary As a Correctional Officer at Wayne Halfway House, Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents. This position is essential in supporting our mission of rehabilitation and positive reinforcement, ensuring that each youth has the opportunity for a brighter future. Responsibilities Maintain safety and security within the facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Manage conflicts effectively among residents, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary. Conduct regular inspections of the premises and monitor CCTV systems to ensure safety protocols are followed. Provide first aid and CPR as needed to ensure the health and safety of residents. Document incidents accurately through detailed report writing for internal records. Collaborate with staff to develop and implement behavior management strategies for residents. Assist in facilitating programs that promote positive behavior and personal development among youth. Engage with residents to build trust and encourage their participation in rehabilitation activities. Qualifications Proven experience in conflict management within a correctional or similar environment.
MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
Certification in CPR and Handle with Care is trained. Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation. Knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices is beneficial but not mandatory. Familiarity with CCTV systems for monitoring facility security is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with a team while maintaining authority when necessary.
