Duties Review and verify offender sentence structure and criminal history information. Tasks include: Ensure the contents of offender records are legal, accurate, and maintained in a secure setting. Review and verify accuracy of legal documents relating to convictions and sentencing. Establish and validate agency jurisdiction of offenders. Verify electronic database information against source documents and resolve problems that relate to the offender sentencing. Verify identification of offenders to law enforcement through pictures, fingerprints, and other physical data. Maintain electronic and physical files. Tasks include: Utilize, update, and maintain databases and programs containing information relative to offenders' conviction, sentence, and violation history. Enter information into the Department's electronic offender database. Archive offender records according to established procedures. Maintain confidentiality of information protected by agency policy or federal or state laws. Provide effective communication and thorough and timely request processing. Tasks include: Respond to requests for public disclosure in compliance with federal and state public disclosure laws. Testify in court as an expert witness regarding the validity of offender records and identity. Provide direct support to the Correctional Records Supervisor and caseload carrying staff. Correspond with appropriate court or other legal staff to resolve sentence discrepancies or other issues related to the structure of the offender sentence. Complete appropriate offender records paperwork affecting custody and release as required and within established timeframes. Provides Notary Public services for Staff and Incarcerated Individuals Tasks include: Legal Process Server to Incarcerated Individuals Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Must respect and maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, the public, and/or criminal justice agencies. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems under highly stressful or adverse situations. Observation- Observes and strategizes personal action based on environmental conditions and human behavior. Technology

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
Two (2) year's experience maintaining or processing offender files such as legal files, property files, grievance files, administrative files, medical files, parole files, or counselor or custody files in a governmental law enforcement office, court setting, or an adult or juvenile correctional agency. College-level course work in criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science, or a related field. Knowledge of criminal history document processing.
