QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's Degree A valid certificate to practice as an Educational Examiner At least 3 years teaching experience Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO

Supervisor of Special Education

JOB GOAL

To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by promoting their sense of self and providing for individual educational needs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices. Administer tests, interpret results, and write reports as part of the referral and re-evaluation process. Identify all types of exceptional children. Conduct Special Education conferences and interpret test results and services to school personnel and parents. Research information on assessments, medical information, and medical equipment. Consult with school personnel and parents. Complete Due Process paperwork. Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the supervisor may from time to time assign.
