STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Summary of Job Classification:
Manages Realtime court reporting services and provides professional Realtime verbatim reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings and conferences. Manages 8 or more FTE court reporters. Certification requirements are the same as for the Court Reporter III or
IV. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Frequency and percentage of time may vary based on assignment. Supervises and plans out the work of assigned court reporters, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, providing guidance, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations. Provides Realtime, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings. Maintains backlog of transcripts, production, distribution, and management of transcript invoicing for all requested proceedings. Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts. Attends mandatory Judicial Department trainings and continuing education to maintain certification. Performs administrative and clerical duties related to the court, including maintaining files and court documents. Stays abreast of the latest technologies for providing Realtime reporting services. Ensures reporters have the tools necessary to provide Realtime to the judicial officers. Establishes policies and procedures to ensure reporting consistency. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full-time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. The work performed by majority of employees is semi complex.

Interactions may result in decisions regarding implementation of policies. Contact may involve support of controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive issues or important presentations. Contacts may involve stressful, negative interactions with the public requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to aggressive interpersonal interactions. Employee normally perform assignments according to your own judgment, requesting Supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance reviewed periodically. Impact of actions are moderate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Equivalency:
Associate's degree or 2 years of college. OR Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
Work Related Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience in court reporting.
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Professional Reporter certification.
Physical Effort Requirements:
Medium Work- Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.

Good-Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Work Location:
Office or similar indoor environment.
