Control number 870392400 This job is open to Help The public U.S. Citizens, Nionals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Help The Public Informion Office serves as a contact for the press and public and as a liaison between the press and all other offices the Court. The office issues the opinions and orders of the Court and operes a working pressroom provided for use by a resident press corps and ing journalists. The office also provides logistical support for filming and photography projects in the building. Interns with the Public Informion Office assist with responding to public inquiries in person, on the telephone, and in writing; the assembly of the Court's orders and opinions for release to the public and to the press; monitoring news clips; press seing for Court sessions as needed; correspondence; conducting background research for public and press inquiries and briefings; assembling merials provided to press and the public; other projects as assigned; and providing general support to the office. Applicants must have completed two semesters of undergradue study and meet one of the following criteria: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's program for the entirety of the internship term; Returning to a Bachelor's degree program immediely following the internship term; or Participing in a federal fellowship program after the internship; Law students and gradue students are not eligible to participe in the Supreme Court Internship program. Preference given to applicants prepared to work eight-hour days, five days per week. The Public Informion Office may accept interns available less than full time but least four days per week. Interns selected for the fall and spring terms should plan to work for 16 weeks. Educion At least two semesters of undergradue study are required.
