Job Description
Department Pre Operative Care Unit Job Summary The Surgical Services Patient Liaison serves as the frontline representative between surgery patients, family members, medical staff, surgeons, and hospital support staff in the, to ensure services provided on the day of the patient's surgery are correct based on identified patient care orders, and the needs and overall coordination of care is completed efficiently and in a timely manner to ensure the patient is prepared for surgery without delay. The liaison also assists the patient's family members with technical assistance and patient's status updates information while surgery is in progress. Required Qualifications
- Require an associate degree in business administration, or related field. A high school diploma/GED equivalent and additional relevant administrative work experience can be considered on a year-for-year basis in lieu of degree requirement.
- Require a minimum of three (3) years of administrative work experience preferably in a hospital or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Require Basic Life Support/CPR (BLS/CPR) certification. Must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire/transfer date. Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Prefer basic working knowledge of commonly known computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
- Prefer demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision. Prefer demonstrated ability to perform public speaking when needed, Mandatory Education Preferred Education Required License and Certs Preferred License and Certs M
