Job Description

Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault Title:
Part-Time Night Medical Advocate Reports to:
Advocacy Program Manager Summary:
Provides medical advocacy services for victims of rape/sexual assault; provides institutional advocacy with/for criminal justice system and medical systems, staffs the hotline.
  • On call from 5pm-5am except Saturday and Sunday, which are 24-hour shifts
  • On call every month from the 1st
  • 10th, 11th
  • 20th or the 21st
  • end of the month
  • Respond to medical hospital calls within one hour to an 11-county service area (8 hospitals)
  • Answer the hotline which will be sent via answering service to personal cell phone
  • Complete all paperwork related to hotline calls, hospital visits and follow-up
  • Complete end of the month required paperwork
  • Attend staff meetings, special agency gatherings and lunches when possible
  • Attend advocate group supervision meetings held during the lunch hour once per quarter.
  • Complete 6 hours per year of continuing education
  • Maintain client confidentiality as required by law and funding sources.
  • Help with police and hospital trainings that might be scheduled outside business hours (could be held anytime per month)
  • Work/ Participate in PCASA special events such as Walk A Mile.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements:
  • 40 hours of state-mandated training is required for all rape crisis center employees.
  • Pass a background check, paid for by employer.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and/or reliable transportation.

From $833.33 per month
