Job Description

The City of Hibbing is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Temporary Full-Time Election Worker supporting all phases of election administration. Under the direction of the City Clerk, this position assists with absentee voting, election judge coordination and scheduling, election equipment preparation and testing, public notices, voter assistance, and Election Day operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of the election process. Evening and extended hours may be required during election periods. Prior administrative, customer service, or election-related experience preferred. This position will primarily work full-Time hours during election cycles, with scheduled hours beginning in May through August to assist with election preparation activities and continuing from September through November to support election administration and post-election processes. Hours will vary based on election schedules and operational needs, including extended hours during peak election periods and on Election Day. High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Prior experience in administrative support, customer service, elections, or a related field. Must be able to attend and successfully complete required election training. Must be able to work required hours, including evenings, extended hours during peak periods, and full-day commitment on Election Day. Must not be a candidate or closely related to a candidate on the ballot, in accordance with Minnesota election law.
