Opens a new window. Job Summary The Records Specialist is responsible for maintaining inmate files, arranging transports, receiving and releasing funds for inmate accounts. This position interacts with courts, law enforcement, attorneys; and local, state, and federal agencies across the United States. This position interacts with inmates and the public on a daily basis. This position performs under the general supervision of the Detention Administrator or designee. The employee uses own initiative and judgment to perform work in an independent and timely manner in accordance with precedents and established policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Must be able to understand, communicate, read and write in English. Must be 18 years of age. Must have no felony convictions. Three (3) years related experience, two (2) years of college substitutes for two (2) years work experience preferred. Valid NM Drivers License. No DWI conviction within the past three (3) years. Associate Degree in related field preferred, but not required. Knowledge of the legal system preferred. Must sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire. Ability to perform all essential duties as listed below. Ability to perform the essential duties in the working conditions described below. Ability to work with the equipment, tools and materials listed below. Must comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
