Job Description

General Description:
  • Responsible for answering crisis lines and providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and/or referrals as required.
  • Complete intakes and enter client information into DVP databases, assess client needs and ensures needs are addressed as soon as possible, researches and maintains resources for client stabilization, ensures all required documents are completed and signed.
  • Assists with sexual assault call-out, provides back up when volunteers are not available for hospital accompaniment and complete intakes for sexual assault victims for Cass County.
  • Works with Sexual Assault Coordinator to ensure victims' needs are met.
Make referrals as needed for support group or counseling services. Legal Advocacy on behalf of victims Maintaining superior public relations with business associates and clients Maintaining court calendar and attending court proceedings with all necessary paperwork Serving as a Liaison with law enforcement, court personnel, attorneys and other legal system personnel on behalf of clients Developing legal files and coordinating all legal activity within the agency between the client, the attorney, and the court systems Maintaining adequate records for grant reporting to meet HHSC standards
Education Requirements:
Previous experience in social work is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Applicant needs to be very efficient on computers, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Also needs to be able to learn new computer programs very easily.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills appropriate to the population being served
  • Must have experience working in crisis situations
  • Must be very organized, creative, and have time management skills
  • Applicant must be able to create and implement strategies to deal with conflict and situations which involve intense emotions
  • Must be able to work well without direct supervision
  • Have strong problem solving skills
  • Must have professional communication and writing skills
  • Applicant must be very efficient at making decisions
  • Must be efficient in dealing with diverse populations
  • Be available for on-call 24/7
Hours:
Full-time position.40 hours per week Monday- Friday. Evening hours and on-call may also be required.
Pay:
Up to $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
