Crime Scene Specialist I

JOB OBJECTIVE

To conduct crime scene searches to gather physical evidence to include latent fingerprints, hair, fibers, blood, projectiles, shell casings and tool and tire marks to assist in the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for the crimes. This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening. For a complete list of essential job functions please click HERE. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of Bachelor's degree in in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Forensic Science, or a related area, and two hundred (200) hours of experience in a crime scene investigation internship program or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must be able to work rotating shifts and be available for emergency call-out 24 hours a day. Prior to any exposure to criminal justice information must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) security and privacy certification and maintain the certification for the duration of employment in this position.
