Forensic Extractions Tech Trainee

Labcorp is seeking a Forensic Extractions Technologist Trainee to join our team in St. Paul, MN. MedTox Laboratories is a subsidiary of Laboratory Corporation of America (Labcorp). This laboratory is fast-paced and performs a variety of high complexity testing including workplace drug testing, federal drug testing and medicated assisted drug treatment testing on urine, oral fluid, blood, and serum samples types. MedTox Technologists perform a vital component of medical laboratory science.

Work Schedule:

Tuesday-Saturday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm •

Pay Rate:

$21.00 per hour plus shift differential All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. New Grads Welcome - Full Training Provided Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a

Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Preferred Qualification:

Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards:

Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
