Job Description:
The Judicial Branch is a state-funded Branch of Government that offers medical/dental/vision, $20,000 free basic life insurance, state-matched 156% retirement plan, 13 paid holidays, earned paid vacation and sick leave, and more. This classification level is responsible for monitoring, coordinating activities, arranging, conducting, and maintaining documentation for drug screenings. Responsibilities may include providing assistance to Probation Officers, contact with clients, scheduling, collecting, disposing, and maintaining records of urine specimens; conducting drug screenings; maintaining the inventory of testing supplies and equipment testifying in court; reporting and documenting testing results; ensuring documentation procedures are done in accordance with policies and procedures; and providing training on testing result documentation. Job Duties 1. Assist Probation officers with client contact and scheduling activities. 2. Greets clients, collects testing forms and accompanies to drug testing area. 3. Conduct drug screening in accordance with established systems and procedures using approved testing methodologies. This includes obtaining urine specimen from Probationers, recording and reporting results. 4. Stores testing samples in secure location and ensures chain of custody procedures are observed at all times. 5. Maintains drug testing supplies and equipment inventory. 6. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in criminal justice, medical/laboratory, or a related area OR One year of experience as a drug technician or related position. All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Skills Performing drug screening; Collecting applicable samples; Maintaining specimen records; Monitoring inventory and supply levels; Maintaining operational records; Using a computer and related software applications; Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Physical Requirements:
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, poor ventilation, hazardous materials (chemicals, blood and other body fluids, etc.), and challenging environmental conditions, imminent danger.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires use of arm and/or leg controls and exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work.
