Job Description

Highlights:
Great team of forensics personnel supporting the USPIS mission. Work in the USPIS Forensics Laboratory alongside experienced forensics professionals across all areas of forensics. An opportunity for an individual to work in a fully functional, accredited government laboratory and learn about the USPIS mission. Assist in working cases and working down a large backlog. I-3 is a company with many forensics opportunities. The candidate will get first-hand knowledge of what we do and be involved in other forensics activities.
Typical Day:
Work within the Firearms Unit in a fully-functioning, accredited laboratory. All work takes place in the laboratory.
Tasks:
Receive and inventory evidence Process, analyze and examine evidence according to forensic science discipline and accreditation standards and FLS policies and procedures Create examination documentation for work performed Issue forensic laboratory examination reports Provide expert testimony on work performed
Required/Desired Qualifications:
Education:
Prefer (but not needed) B.S. degree with at least twenty-four (24) credit hours in the Physical Sciences.
Experience:
Prefer experience working in an accredited laboratory. Demonstrated ability to study and pass training, examination, and testing assessments. Excellent verbal and written communication US citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS)
Shift Information:
Full time Day shift (normal working hours falling between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.)
Citizenship:
US Citizenship required.
Clearance:
ability to obtain/maintain USPIS clearance required.
