WORK WEEK SCHEDULE 8 AM- 5 PM WORK HOURS 40 NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR 11
Education Required:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree with Data Management emphasis or equivalent knowledge, training and skills. 3 years of experience with NC Student Information System and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Overview:
The Student Information Systems (SIS) Data Specialist supports school and district operations by managing, analyzing, and reporting student and staff data. This position ensures accuracy and compliance in all data systems, provides actionable insights to improve instruction and operations, and supports staff in effective data use for decision-making.
Role and Responsibilities:
Data Management & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date student, staff, and program data in the Student Information System (SIS) and other district databases. Collect, verify, and submit state, federal, and local reports (e.g., enrollment, attendance, discipline, course completion, testing, accountability). Ensure data integrity through regular audits, validation checks, and reconciliation between systems. Create and maintain data dashboards, spreadsheets, and reports for administrators and teachers. Analysis & Decision Support Analyze trends in enrollment, attendance, academic performance, and other indicators. Prepare visualizations and summaries to support school improvement planning, grants, and program evaluations. Provide data insights to leadership teams for strategic decision-making. Training & Technical Support Train school staff on data entry procedures, report generation, and data quality standards. Provide user support for SIS platform, and data reporting tools. Develop step-by-step documentation, checklists, and resources for consistent data practices.

This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

This position requires the ability to coordinate the eyes and hands to use a keyboard.
Interpersonal Temperament:
This position requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. You must be adaptable to performing under minimal to moderate levels of stress.
Physical Communication:
This position requires the ability to talk, write and hear.
