Job Description

Description About the Role The Office of Inspector General (OIG) works to keep the agency corruption-free. To accomplish this, the OIG detects, receives, and investigates allegations of fraud, corruption, waste, and abuse with respect to employees, or other individuals or organizations doing business with the Port Authority, who attempt to corrupt or unlawfully interfere with Port Authority operations. The Inspector General is looking for highly skilled individuals to join his team in support of the mission - to enhance and defend the integrity of the Port Authority's programs and operations. Reporting to the Supervising Confidential Investigator, the Senior Confidential Investigator will be responsible for conducting highly confidential and sensitive investigations relating to Port Authority employees, or other individuals or organizations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following functions: Responsibilities Reporting to the Supervising Confidential Investigator, the Senior Confidential Investigator will be responsible for conducting highly confidential and sensitive investigations relating to Port Authority employees, or other individuals or organizations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following functions: Conduct highly confidential and sensitive investigations Prepare investigative plans outlining necessary steps required to complete an investigation Analyze/evaluate agency/contractor records, procedures, activities, and other matters as appropriate Collaborate with federal, state, and city investigators and law enforcement agencies Maintain high integrity and the absolute confidentiality of information relating to issues concerning the Office of Investigations . Minimum Qualifications Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position: Individual should possess at least 10 years of experience in conducting a variety of investigations, which includes, but is not limited to the ability to examine and analyze books and records; interview and take sworn statements from witnesses; document investigative findings; prepare investigative memoranda and reports of investigation; execute search and arrest warrants; and testify before judicial and administrative tribunals Individuals should be experienced in working with prosecutorial and law enforcement agencies and able to mediate any issues that might arise between agencies during the course of conducting joint investigations and prosecutions Demonstrated ethics and sound judgment, with an ability to exercise discretion on confidential and sensitive matters Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, and take direction Desired Qualifications Ideal candidates will present the following profile: Bachelor's Degree in areas of discipline related to law enforcement is highly desirable Previous experience as an inspector general or internal affairs investigator; or experience investigating financial crimes or cyber-crimes Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and databases Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication, and interviewing skills Demonstrated ability to write succinct and organized reports Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage time efficiently, meet deadlines and multi-task Previous experience in computer forensics, including applicable training and certifications Selection Process The application process varies by position, but typically includes an initial phone interview for qualified candidates, followed by a more in-depth interview(s) and/or assessment(s). The expected compensation range for this role is:​ ​

$79,794
Midpoint:
$103,721
Maximum:
$127,660 In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits employees to work remotely a maximum of one day per week, subject to operational and business needs.
