Head of School FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt, $20.09-35.80/hour for 190 day school year
Customary Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 1:00 pm Position Summary Under the direction of the Head of School, the Study Hall Monitor/Community Service Coordinator/Special Events Coordinator is directly responsible for the overall supervision of the Study Hall/Library. This person will also be responsible for seeking community service and internship opportunities for PCS students and ensure that students meet the community service graduation requirements. About PCS PCS is an inclusive college preparatory charter school that serves students in grades 7-12. We engage and support every student in learning that ignites curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation, while developing resilient, globally-minded, socially responsible changemakers. We cultivate a love of learning with a community of care, advancing and celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our curriculum integrates culturally responsive pedagogy, visual arts, and performing arts to empower all students to be creative problem-solvers, effective collaborators, and engaged leaders of today and tomorrow. Roles & Responsibilities Supervise all students while in Study Hall (those assigned to Study Hall, sent by teachers, free period students and classes when no substitute is available). Assist students to keep them on task. Assist students in appropriate computer, printer and copier use. Maintain a quiet work environment for students and employees alike. Coordinate with classroom teachers when necessary.

Proctors exams as needed. Assists front office, teachers, and other departments with coverage and on projects when needed and as directed by the Head of School. Keep the staff room organized, order paper and supplies when needed, and keep copy machines operational. Assists with detentions. Assists Faculty Dean with organization of PSAT/SAT and AP testing. Inventory control for textbooks and other PCS books and school Chromebooks. Support PCS students with community service and internship opportunities. Seek community service opportunities for students within PCS and in the broader community. Advertise and promote community service activities: Send announcements out for morning announcements, PCS website and community service board. Coordinate annual community service fair. Initiate contact with community partners throughout the year. Along with the Head of School, approves student community service projects. Create digital Community Service logs, monitor student completion of those logs, and update Infinite Campus with student hours. Follow up with students that have an incomplete grade in community service and send notification letters to parents. Support and advise students who are engaged in community service or internship projects. Special projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements & Competencies At least 2-3 years of student supervisory experience preferred Basic skills with spreadsheets and the Google Suite (especially Google Sheets) Experience or interest in working in charter schools, education, or non-profits Ability to follow directions and manage time effectively. Responsiveness to students' unique needs and identities. Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, parents and the public with patience and courtesy, in a manner that reflects PCS values. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Willingness to be flexible and changes in direction. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships. Motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
