In School Suspension Supervisor - 26/27 School Year

Reports To:

School Principal

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree, two years of college (60 credits) preferred Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

General Description:

To assist with student behavior; recordkeeping; instructional assistance; organization; and interaction and communication with students who are placed in ISS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate with classroom teachers to collect and submit student assignments Ensures student work is completed Ensures student safety Work with student support staff Monitor technology usage; enforce school technology use expectations Provide direct, specific, consistent and tenacious communication Enforce very high expectations Implement a classroom management program that successfully develops positive interactions Create a climate of mutual respect and fairness for all students Build strong relationships with limited disruptions Utilize several differentiated strategies to prevent and intervene with behaviors for all students Design each reflection with clear, detailed and informative information to help reteach students Use room arrangement, materials and displays to create an inviting and supportive climate Present as a consummate professional; always observe appropriate boundaries Other duties as assigned

Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment Must be able to assist in the lifting/carrying of students in excess of 50 pounds Occasional exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support services. Position is Exempt - 10 months, 7 hours/day
