JOB DESCRIPTION
- Part-Time Aides Overview Beginning in school year 2012-13, schools have been able to utilize a newly created position called Part-Time Aide. This position can be used to assist with the supervision of students during non-instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Part-Time Aides can work for the school, but for no longer than 3.75 hours each day. Part Time Aides Duties Some examples of duties that can be performed by Part-Time Aides include assisting with supervision of students: During lunch and/or recess period(s) During study halls (to only be held during non-instructional minutes) During in-school suspensions During student entry/exit In and around the school building Part-Time Aides cannot take on the duties of other clearly defined school-based positions, including but not limited to teacher's assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children's welfare attendants, security guards or aides, clerks, etc. Part Time Aides
QUALIFICATIONS
Part-Time Aides must have the following qualifications: High school degree or GED equivalent (required) One year of experience in the supervision of children in an organized setting (preferred) Ability to work with and for school children Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations.
