St. John The Baptist, New Haven - Recess Monitor Diocesan MZ Services of Fort Wayne Fort Wayne, IN Job Details Part-time $10.00 - $11.50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Conflict management Safe environment creation Entry level Full Job Description Recess Monitor Position St. John the Baptist Catholic School, located in New Haven, IN, is looking for a part time Recess Monitor 1-2 days/week preferably Tuesday and Wednesday for, 1.5 hours each day, from 10:45 til 12:20. The Recess Monitor will be responsible for monitoring students during lunch/recess time along with other Monitors.

Primary Function:

To supervise students during recess and maintain a safe and positive atmosphere.

Duties:

Use of a Two-Way Walkie Talkie on your person while on duty Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately. Interacts with students to maintain order and provide assistance when needed. Assumes responsibility for play equipment. Directs movement of students to and from the playground, lunchroom and classrooms in a safe and organized manner. Assess the playground for security and conditions of equipment and report concerns to school personnel. Reports disciplinary and other concerns to school personnel and/or administration. Provides assistance for students requiring additional guidance. Maintains a safe environment and encourages peaceful resolutions of student conflicts. Responds to emergency situations (injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Evaluates student injuries. If serious enough, walk students into the building to the school nurse. Reports safety and sanitary hazards immediately to school personnel. Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to staff, students and administrators. Work collaboratively with other recess monitors. Attends work regularly and is punctual. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
