Saginaw Public Schools Transitional Monitors are responsible for assisting students during lunch, nap time, and recess.

The School District of the City of Saginaw, in partnership with parents, students, businesses and the community, is committed to ensuring the highest level of academic achievement and career planning for all students, the highest performing organizational structure at all levels, and a safe and effective learning environment for all students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of age-appropriate activities Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work with constant interruptions Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work in a multi-cultural, urban setting and develop rapport with students, staff, parents, and the school community
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the supervision of the lunchroom, nap room, and recess area Initiate recess or classroom activities to engage students Assist students with lunch, nap, and recess-related needs Supervise students Develop positive, professional, and constructive relationships with children, parents, and the local school community Attend meetings and training sessions as directed Perform other duties as assigned Education and/or
Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent
Special Requirements:
Attend any training as mandated, specifically CPR/First Aid Must be flexible and work well with others Desire to work with children
Working Conditions:
School environment with no physical discomfort due to temperature or dust Noise level may range from moderate to loud
