3.25 hours per day
RATE OF PAY
$18.18 - $20.66 per hour Terms of employment per the Minnesota School Employees Association Non-Certified Student Support Personnel (MSEA) collective bargaining agreement.
SUMMARY:
To supervise and support students during lunch periods by monitoring behavior, enforcing safety rules, assisting with conflict resolution, and ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive lunchroom environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills. Supervise and monitor students during lunch periods and related transitions to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment. Monitor student behavior and assist students in resolving conflicts in the lunchroom. Enforce school rules, expectations, and all safety procedures during lunch periods. Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly lunchroom by supporting appropriate student conduct and routines. Monitor student movement and time to ensure classes return to instructional areas on time. Assist students who are injured or ill during lunch periods and seek additional help as needed. Report safety concerns, accidents, or unusual situations to the building principal or designated supervisor. Support the building principal in establishing and reinforcing appropriate lunchroom expectations. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district policies and procedures. Promote positive interactions, teamwork, and respectful communication with students, staff, and administrators. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED At least 18 years of age. Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
N/A Required Knowledge:
District policies and procedures. Confidentiality requirements related to students and families. Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols.
Required Skills:
Ability to effectively supervise groups of students in structured and unstructured settings. Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, and students. Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in the cafeteria.
