Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking one (1) Para-Health Aide to support a student. Ideally, the same candidate will serve for both the Extended School Year (ESY) program and the 2026-2027 school year assignment. This role requires a compassionate, experienced professional with strong physical support skills and prior experience working in school-based settings with children requiring intensive physical assistance. Responsibilities Provide direct physical support and assistance to an 11-year-old male student who is wheelchair-bound Assist with toileting and lifting needs , including full transfers using a Hoyer lift Ensure student safety, dignity, and comfort at all times Follow established care plans and school procedures Work collaboratively with school staff and support team Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions Support student throughout the school day as assigned Requirements Prior experience in a school setting working with children required Must have experience using a Hoyer lift Must be physically able to perform lifting and transfer duties safely Experience supporting individuals with significant physical needs preferred Must have current NJDOE Proof of Criminal History Approval (vendor code clearance) Proof of TB testing required Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
