Position Title Lunch Monitors - 2026-2027 Required Application Type School Related Personnel Salary/Pay Scale $14,011 Job Description The position of Lunch Monitor is a part-time position in a District elementary school with the workday being Monday to Friday for 3.5 hours. The salary is $14,011 per year. Bilingual Preferred.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
This is routine interpersonal work involving the custodial care of pupils in school buildings, on playgrounds and on class trips. The work may require an ability to speak a language other than English in order to deal with a particular pupil population. The work requires independent judgment and is performed under the supervision of a teacher or administrator. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Maintains order and prevents or intercedes in arguments or scuffles; Directs pupils in hallways between classrooms; In a school lunchroom assigns tables and encourages pupils to eat and behave in an orderly fashion; On a playground maintains order and encourages participation in games or planned use of time; Provides assistance to pupils with special needs; Helps to maintain cleanliness of lunchrooms and play areas; May administer first aid for minor cuts and bruises; May perform a variety of other duties incidental of the prime duty of Monitor.
THOUGH THIS IS A CIVIL SERVICE POSITION, IT IS NON-COMPETITITVE SO NO CIVIL SERVICE EXAM IS REQUIRED.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to understand and direct children courteously and firmly but tactfully; ability to speak well and clearly•.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
NOTE:
