First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Summary:
Responsible for general supervision and instructional support of Kindergarten-8th grade students who attend the extended day program. Provides guidance with homework, engages with students by playing games and doing crafts, ensures safety on walking field trips, and supervises games and playground activities.Typical Duties:
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Provide assistance and guidance with homework for Kindergarten-8th grade students.
- Create a positive welcoming environment for students.
- Maintain a safe environment when assisting on walking field trips to and from school.
- Ensure the playground rules of Assumption Catholic School are followed to promote safe play.
- Identify and report any accidents or conflicts to the EDP supervisor and director.
- Perform duties assigned by the program director.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, 18yrs+, some college
- WA State Patrol Background Check
- CPR and First Aid certification (training can be provided)
- "Protecting God's Children" (Virtus) Training from Seattle Archdiocese provided by
Assumption School Ethical Duties:
- Maintains confidentiality about student performance and written records.
- Respects the differences of all students and treats each student with a positive demeanor.
- Arrives and departs punctually, notifies appropriate personnel about absences, and change in coverage.
- Demonstrates loyalty, dependability, integrity, enthusiasm, and other ethical standards.
Skills:
- Understands the general concept of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics.
- Ability to provide assistance and guidance in a variety of assignments for Kindergarten- 8th grade students.
- Adhere to the safety practices in the library, playground and when on a fieldtrip.
