Trade Compliance & Export Documentation Specialist Job Summary We are seeking an Import/Export Documentation Specialist to support international shipping and trade compliance documentation, including Certificates of Origin , commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other import/export records. This position will work closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure shipping documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with export documentation, strong attention to detail, and a basic understanding of country of origin, HTS/HS codes, and international shipping processes. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and maintain Certificates of Origin and other export-related documentation. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other shipping documents for accuracy. Verify product information, country of origin, shipment details, and customer requirements before document issuance. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve documentation issues. Support import/export compliance recordkeeping and document retention. Assist with HTS/HS code, country of origin, and trade compliance data review as needed. Ensure documentation is completed timely to support shipment schedules and customer requirements. Respond to customer requests related to COO, shipping documents, and export paperwork. Support continuous improvement of import/export documentation procedures. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in import/export documentation, logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, trade compliance, or supply chain operations. Experience preparing or reviewing Certificates of Origin preferred. Familiar with commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and shipping documentation. Basic knowledge of country of origin, HTS/HS codes, customs documentation, or rules of origin preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation discrepancies. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal and external parties. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general office software. Experience in manufacturing, electronics, computer hardware, or technology industry is a plus. Experience with USMCA or other Free Trade Agreement certificates is a plus.
