QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Associate degree or equivalent experience in quality, operations, engineering support, or document control 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, document control, or production support Experience working with controlled drawings, work instructions, revision control, or release processes Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple records, revisions, and deadlines simultaneously Experience supporting traceability, configuration control, or quality documentation systems preferred Description The Quality Coordinator maintains integrity, traceability, and useability of engineering and production documentation, while serving as the primary interface between engineering, production, and procurement. The QC will validate design intent and ensure that revisions and quality requirements are accurately captured by controlled documentation workflows, and that production/manufacturing executes against the most up-to-date controlled documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering-Production Documentation Oversight Oversees the end-to-end quality documentation process that links engineering and production departments, including the intake, tracking, and liability of engineering work requests (EWRs) and engineering change requests (ECRs) Coordinates closely with engineering leadership to allocate drafting and documentation resources, while maintaining timely turnaround times. Product Release and Change Control Coordinates the formal release of new products and product revisions to the production facility through engineering release notices (ERNs) and engineering change notices (ECNs) Ensures proper interdepartmental notification regarding scope, timing, and impact of such changes, with heightened emphasis on documentation rigor, archival standards and traceability (including maintenance of historical revisions of documentation ranging from production work instructions, engineering documents, gerber files, and additive manufacturing files which can be accurately reconstructed and audited) Configuration and File Controls QC maintains controlled libraries of engineering drawings, gerber files, and STEP files, and associated configuration files for released and archived parts and assemblies Assure unilateral consistency between procurement, sales and marketing, engineering, and production by maintaining clear correlation between internal part numbers, purchasing catalogs, supplier documentation and OEM records. Control Document Management Manages the dissemination of controlled documents during revision updates, to prevent version conflicts on the production floor. Maintains the necessary separation of duties between the production line employee and the quality element by coordinating with production leadership to systematically purge obsolete drawings, work instructions, and schematics, while rolling out updated documentation in a controlled and traceable manner Ensure that all parties have access to only the current controlled documentation, and understand when and why changes have occurred, and how they are to best be implemented. Production Quality Data Metrics Maintain a database of production related quality assurance metrics, including scrap, recycle, and failure rates Document trends that reflect the overall efficacy of production processes using structured data sets in a referenceable format to support corrective action and long-term process evaluations. Continuous Improvement and Statistical Analysis Support and lead the continuous improvement of quality standards and control processes by identifying inefficiencies, recurring defects, or documentational blind spots Apply statistical analysis to production data to support root-cause identification and analysis, and process refinement Stringent emphasis on practical data driven improvement methods is implied, rather than a ridged adherence to predesigned formal frameworks. SOPs and Interdepartmental Training Develop, refine, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to visual inspections, quality control checkpoints, and documentation adherence, collaborating with engineering and production departments to ensure SOPs are technically accurate, clear, and executable on the production floor Support and conduct interdepartmental quality assurance training to reinforce proper documentation usage, inspection criteria, and revision awareness FAA Regulatory Compliance and Airworthiness Records Ensure that quality documentation, configuration baselines, and production processes remain aligned with applicable FAA regulations and guidance for UAS design, production, and operation Work with engineering, flight operations, and leadership to translate regulatory requirements into practical documentation controls, inspection criteria, and release standards, helping ensure that design changes, manufacturing practices, and product acceptance criteria remain within regulatory guidelines Maintain traceable records of configuration, inspections, and test results required to evidence conformity to approved design data and operating limitations, and verifies that engineering changes are evaluated for regulatory impact before implementation Coordinate updates to controlled documents, SOPs, and quality checkpoints so that the production environment and associated records remain audit-ready and supportive of continued airworthiness when regulations, standards, or internal compliance policies evolve
WORKING CONDITIONS
Based in a UAS assembly and production environment in Daytona Beach, Florida Frequent use of computers, document control systems, and production records Regular movement between office, engineering, and production areas Must be able to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment Consistent attention to detail and follow-through required in managing documentation and records
