Job Description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a part-time detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to join our Axis Spine Team! We need someone with a professional demeanor who can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask! Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, the Documentation Specialist will facilitate referrals from our Family Medicine providers to other hospital providers, specialists, and outside facilities. This position is responsible for partnering with multiple insurance companies for authorizations, ensuring referrals are maintained in a timely manner, and sent to the appropriate provider. The Documentation Specialist will assist patients in the coordination of care and provide details to patients regarding the status of their referral to outside providers. Answer incoming calls and redirects as needed in a friendly, timely, and professional manner.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite Computer skills in utilizing word processing, integrated EMR database, and other functions Ability to type at least 40 words per minute Ability to relate and work effectively with others Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required
