& Co. - 4.1 Chicago, IL Job Details Full-time $30 - $60 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee stock ownership plan Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills CAD Team leadership Configuration management Manufacturing facility Attention to detail Organizational skills Technical writing within technology Manufacturing company experience Creo Full Job Description Documentation Control Manager Automotive manufacturer located on the Northside of Chicago is in search of a Documentation Control Manager (aka Change Manager, aka Configuration Manager) with technical documentation skills relevant to a manufacturing environment, to manage our Documentation Control Group with responsibility for preparing and processing Engineering Change Orders (ECO). This is an on-site position.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of CAD operators and Document Control Specialists. Preparing bi-weekly change notice information for material review board. Oversee Engineering Document Control group activities including preparing, reviewing, processing and coordinating approval of Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Create new documentation or update existing documentation to accurately reflect design changes, including Bills of Material (BOM) and technical drawings. Review drawings for accuracy and consistency with associated BOMs and other necessary documents and standards. Communicate effectively to ensure proper notifications and processing of ECOs and approvals. Verify BOM changes into ERP system after their implementation. Maintain database of the status of all ECOs and associated documentation. Manage and maintain the consolidation and archiving of ECO documentation.
Requirements:
Must have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of Engineering Document Control process. Knowledge of Engineering Drawings/CAD (Creo is preferred) and technical BOMs is essential. Familiar with common manufacturing processes is desirable. Prior experience with Engineering Documentation and Change Control Processes. Strong desire to lead, participate and learn.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's degree with significant relevant experience.
Experience:
2+ years' experience in Change Management (Configuration Management). Experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment is required. Experience with typical Engineering design tools such as CAD (Creo), ERP, etc. MS Suite (Access/Excel/Outlook/Word) and Adobe Illustrator. Exposure to daily leadership and collaboration with technical teams. Salary Range:
