Job Summary:
Position Summary The BOM Specialist is responsible for identifying, investigating, and correcting Bill of Materials (BOM) discrepancies impacting manufacturing execution and production order accuracy. This role supports Engineering and Manufacturing by ensuring BOM data aligns with released product documentation and production requirements. The position focuses on BOM remediation, discrepancy resolution, and documentation accuracy to support production continuity, data integrity, and operational efficiency. This position will also support compliance and quality initiatives by auditing CDF files and verifying documentation alignment with applicable NRTL certifications and supporting regulatory documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams. Essential Duties & Responsibilities BOM Remediation & Auditing Audit and certify all Bills of Materials for accuracy and completeness. Review BOM structures for proper part numbers, descriptions, quantities, revisions, and approved substitutions. Ensure BOM consistency between ERP systems, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Identify discrepancies and work with Engineering and Procurement to resolve issues promptly. Maintain BOM revision control and document change tracking. Support Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation and verification. Compliance & Documentation Auditing Audit CDF files for completeness and accuracy. Compare engineering and compliance documentation against applicable NRTL certifications and approvals. Verify that certified components and configurations match approved documentation. Assist in maintaining product compliance records and certification documentation. Support internal and external audits related to product certification and regulatory compliance. Cross-Functional Support Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to improve documentation accuracy and process efficiency. Support root-cause investigations involving BOM or documentation discrepancies. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation and product data management. Help develop and maintain standardized procedures for BOM and compliance auditing. Qualifications Associate degree or technical training preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support, documentation control, BOM management, or related field preferred. Experience working within ERP/MRP systems strongly preferred. Familiarity with engineering drawings, revision control, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of NRTL certifications, compliance documentation, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Strong computer and organizational skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills Experience with document control systems. Knowledge of ISO quality systems and manufacturing documentation standards. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with ECO/ECR flow.
