Job Description
Position Summary:
The Documentation Control Specialist position supports the Quality and compliance systems. This position will be responsible to review and confirm that production documentation is accurate, legible, and readily retrievable. The Documentation Control Specialist will control the release of final product and is responsible to ensure that noncompliance product(s) are not released.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform review of Manufacturing Documentation across multiple production lines and shifts. Support manufacturing teams to provide feedback on error trends and area of focus. Ensure all Manufacturing Documents are fully reviewed before release with a focus on HACCP, and Quality checks. Provide improvement ideas on documentation and processes. Aid in locating requested documents needed for investigations and may serve as a subject matter expert during investigations. Assist during trace reports for audits. Assist during facility audits for providing documentation that may be requested. Support, implement, and maintain food safety documentation practices as required through SQF and federal regulations, and MAF. Provide technical quality support to QA and Operations with an emphasis on continuous improvement in food safety and quality compliance. Train employees on all shifts. Provide technical support in the fact-finding process related to non-compliance, HACCP violations, consumer complaints, or other issue as requested. Maintains a thorough knowledge of appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP). Write New or revise SOPs as needed. Write protocols and reports as needed. Electronically maintain Supplier Ingredient folders. Organize specifications, COA's, Supplier Questionnaires, and evaluations. Create and submit purchase orders for sanitation supplies and quality supplies. Other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.

Occasional travel required for project meetings, supplier/consultant meetings, inspections, and training. Responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. The ability to work according to the assigned schedule, to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation, is an essential function of this position.
Required Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science or related field preferred and/or 5-10 years in Food Quality. Strong Technical knowledge of Quality Assurance and Food Safety. Knowledge of GMP and GMP Requirements in regards to documentation. 5-10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control, Documentation control within Food Industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, and
SQF/GFSI
requirements in regards to documentation. Personable, professional, and productive within a team environment. Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), Adobe Acrobat and Social Media.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Quality Control Technologist, Quality Assurance Technologist or Quality Supervisor.
