None About the Role MedOp Solutions is partnering with a nationally recognized healthcare organization to hire an experienced Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDI) Registered Nurse for a fully remote contract assignment. This role is ideal for an experienced RN with a strong clinical background and CDI expertise who is passionate about improving documentation quality, supporting patient safety initiatives, and ensuring the medical record accurately reflects patient acuity and care provided. The Clinical Documentation Specialist will work collaboratively with physicians, coding professionals, and clinical teams to enhance documentation integrity, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance. This fully remote opportunity allows experienced nurses to apply their clinical knowledge in a non-bedside setting while making a meaningful impact on healthcare quality and outcomes. Department Overview Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Fully Remote Position Collaborative interdisciplinary environment Focus on documentation quality, compliance, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives Key Responsibilities Review patient medical records for completeness, accuracy, and clinical specificity Identify opportunities for improved documentation and physician clarification Collaborate with providers and healthcare teams to ensure accurate clinical representation of patient conditions Support accurate severity of illness, risk adjustment, and quality reporting measures Participate in clinical quality and patient safety initiatives Monitor documentation trends and recommend process improvements Educate providers on documentation best practices Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory documentation standards Utilize electronic medical record systems to conduct chart reviews and documentation analysis Qualifications Required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois BSN or Master's Degree in Nursing Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) experience Minimum of 2 years of bedside nursing experience Experience participating in clinical quality, patient safety, or related initiatives Demonstrated change management and process improvement skills Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) Certification Five years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Medical-Surgical Nursing Critical Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Emergency Department Nursing Scheduling & Expectations Fully Remote Assignment Full-Time Schedule No weekend requirements No on-call requirements 30-minute meal break Additional Information CCDS Certification preferred CDI Checklist must be completed and submitted with application One open position available
