This role focuses on technical leadership, project oversight, regulatory compliance, and client relationship management for environmental assessment and remediation initiatives throughout South Florida. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Development Mentor junior and mid-level environmental professionals and support their technical growth. Provide guidance to senior technical staff and assist with team development and workload planning. Promote a collaborative and learning-focused work environment. Project Oversight & Quality Control Act as Principal-in-Charge for environmental assessment and remediation projects. Ensure projects meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Review project scopes, proposals, budgets, change orders, and final reports. Participate in project meetings to address technical or administrative challenges and maintain project timelines. Client Engagement & Business Development Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for new work. Participate in marketing and outreach activities to expand the firm's environmental services. Meet with clients to discuss project results, recommendations, and next steps. Support invoicing reviews, change order approvals, and project financial oversight. Technical Leadership Provide expert guidance on environmental regulations and compliance at the federal, state, and local levels. Oversee environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater investigations, and remediation projects. Direct remediation system design, implementation, operation, and maintenance. Review investigations and assessments related to underground storage tanks (USTs). Approve environmental work plans detailing sampling locations, testing methodologies, subcontractor coordination, and safety protocols. Operational Excellence Ensure all deliverables align with project scopes and regulatory expectations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and consulting services. Monitor project schedules and budgets while identifying efficiency improvements. Provide oversight across multiple environmental projects simultaneously. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field (Master's preferred). 12+ years of environmental consulting experience in assessment and remediation.
Professional license preferred:
PE (Professional Engineer), PG (Professional Geologist), or REM (Registered Environmental Manager) . Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and environmental testing methods . Experience managing environmental investigation and remediation programs. Familiarity with South Florida environmental regulatory agencies and requirements strongly preferred. Ability to help generate business opportunities.
