This energetic role involves inspecting properties, investigating violations, and collaborating with residents and businesses to promote safe, healthy, and compliant environments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to public service, helping to foster a vibrant and orderly community through effective enforcement and communication. Responsibilities Conduct inspections of properties, buildings, and public spaces to identify code violations related to zoning, safety, health, construction, and public health standards. Investigate reports of violations by residents, businesses, or contractors, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation. Enforce compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards during inspections and investigations to promote workplace safety. Review construction plans and monitor ongoing projects to ensure adherence to building codes and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations where applicable. Prepare detailed reports documenting violations, inspection findings, and recommended corrective actions; maintain accurate records for regulatory reporting purposes. Collaborate with other departments, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. Educate the public on compliance requirements through outreach efforts and clear communication. Qualifications Prior experience in construction, code enforcement, or a related field is preferred; familiarity with building codes and safety standards is highly valued. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, FDA regulations (if applicable), and compliance management practices is a plus. Strong report writing skills with the ability to document findings clearly and accurately for regulatory reporting purposes. Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, business owners, contractors, and team members.
