Job Description
Join the Panhandle Health District team! We're seeking a full-time Technical Records Specialist I to support our Environmental & Health Protection programs at our Sandpoint, Idaho office. The Environmental Health Technical Records Specialist 1 (TRS1) helps support public health by managing a records database and assisting with various environmental health programs. This role involves conducting interviews, providing guidance, and helping customers and applicants navigate programs related to sewage disposal, land development, food safety, public drinking water, childcare, and septic system licensing. Qualifications and Proficiencies:
Familiarity with basic computer applications and database systems relevant to the field Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with various audiences Experience in providing high-quality service to a range of clients and stakeholders Attention to detail in data management, with a focus on accuracy and consistency Understanding of relevant regulations and the ability to analyze data for reporting purposes A proactive approach to identifying challenges and suggesting feasible solutions Good organizational skills, capable of managing priorities to meet deadlines Valid driver's license (Idaho or Washington) or ability to obtain one if relocating National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (IS)100, 700 within one (1) month of employmentPhysical Requirements:
Due to the need for all Health Department personnel to respond to public health emergencies, the employee must be assessed for his/her ability to meet the physical demands of performing the following activities: Engage in the following movements: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and writing and repetitive motions. To move objects, exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Visual ability must be sufficient to read typewritten documents, computer screens, and drive a car If unable to demonstrate these abilities based upon a standardized, objective assessment performed by external occupational health professionals, all reasonable accommodations will be made in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and any other applicable Federal and Idaho law.
