This role blends field work, technical analysis, reporting, and program support , and is ideal for candidates looking to grow within an environmental consulting environment. Project Scientists support both project-based work and ongoing compliance programs for small and mid-sized industrial facilities. This position offers exposure to a wide range of environmental and safety programs, with growth opportunities based on demonstrated skills and performance. Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance & Field Work Conduct wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste sampling Support hazardous waste determinations, waste profiling, and manifest preparation Assist with chemical inventory development and regulatory reporting (Tier II, Form R) Perform air emissions calculations and support environmental reporting Conduct site inspections and compliance evaluations (stormwater, wastewater, SPCC, RCRA) Develop facility diagrams, site maps, and supporting compliance documentation Reporting, Documentation & Program Support Prepare environmental compliance reports and regulatory submittals Assist with permit applications, plans, and compliance documentation Write and maintain SOPs, compliance plans, and contingency plans (e.g., SWPPP, SPCC) Track regulatory deadlines and assigned deliverables to ensure on-time completion Maintain organized project files and client records ISO & Management Systems SupportISO 14001, ISO
45001, andISO 50001
management systems Assist with internal audits, document reviews, and corrective action tracking Technical & Analytical Support Perform quality checks on environmental data, calculations, and reports Assist with data tracking, spreadsheets, and compliance tools Support industrial hygiene or exposure-related activities as needed Support energy management andISO 50001
documentation and data tracking Client & Team Support Support ongoing, contract-based compliance programs for assigned clients Communicate task status and potential issues to senior staff Assist with inspection follow-up and regulatory correspondence Participate in internal process improvement and knowledge-sharing efforts Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field preferred (Associates degree or equivalent experience considered) 0-8 years of experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or a related technical field Ability to perform field work, data collection, and technical writing Strong organizational and time-management skills Basic understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, waste) Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with Adobe a plus Why BCA Exposure to real-world consulting , not just single-media compliance Hands-on experience with industrial facilities Opportunities to grow into senior technical or project management roles Collaborative team environment with varied project workPay:
