Job Summary The Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Specialist will be responsible for support and management of the Environmental, Health, Safety & Security Program (EHSS) of the plant as assigned by the Environmental, Health Safety & Security Manager. Job Responsibilities Monitor monthly environmental Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports (e.g., compliance, energy, waste, and water) Assist as a resource to plants in planning and implementing best practices in environmental programs and waste reduction opportunities Assist plant on periodic environmental permit application activities (air, water, and waste) Develop, implement, , review, and update environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (Storm Water Permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Wastewater Permits, Spill Prevention, Pollution and Countermeasure Plans, (SPCC), Air Emission Surveys and Calculations, Air Permitting and weekly, monthly, and annual reporting, RCRA/Hazardous Waste, DOT, etc.) Train employees and provide coaching to management on updated environmental programs, policies and procedures per compliance

2015 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Phase I and II reviews, supporting plants in achieving and maintainingISO 14001
Certification Water protection strategies for new site Develop and maintain data forEPCRA 312
Chemical Inventory (SARA Title III - Tier II and Toxic Release Inventory TRI/Form R) reporting and prepare annual reports Comply with all regulations set by the Federal & State EPA/DOT and Local Governmental requirements and regulations Conduct internal audits to ensure company compliance with all company environmental policies and procedures Drive Energy (CO2), Water and Waste Energy Projects, develop environmental action plans and countermeasures and report out on KPI matrixes Coordinate the work of outside contractors and consultants to support creation of permit applications and process performance testing, as needed Assist in engineering new processes and devices to meet or exceed environmental regulations Develop and maintain data forEPCRA 312
Chemical Inventory (SARA Title III - Tier II and Toxic Release Inventory TRI/Form R) reporting and prepare annual reports Identify and inform management of compliance issues and improvement opportunities Other duties and tasks as assigned Required Skills and Abilities General understanding and working knowledge of basic engineering principles Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (Kentucky) Strong organization and planning skills Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports Effective presentation and writing skills Knowledge of energy engineering and landfill reduction strategies Ability to multitask and facilitate problem solving & resolution. Ability to work in a team environment Effective time management skills and responsivity to shifting priorities. Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, senior management and senior outside representatives The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information Excellent computer skills Thorough knowledge of practices and methods for developing and administering a comprehensive EH&S program, including designing employee EH&S training programs. Proficient in performing EH&S assessments to identify workplace hazards and determining appropriate control measures. Broad knowledge of the methods and practices for conducting accident and workplace safety audits and investigations required. Demonstrate an extensive technical understanding of environmental health and safety principles, concepts, theories, revised regulations, and practices; and comprehensive leadership skills including organizing, planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones; and the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering (or related degree) with 3 years of relevant experience OR 5 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment is required. Knowledge of environmental regulations (such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) is required.ISO14001
Lead Auditor Certification, ISO14001 System Implementation and Management experience is preferred. CSP or CHMM certification is preferred. Experience with Environmental permitting including air permits and Environmental compliance experience is preferred. 3-5 years Environmental Compliance, ISO14001 and Energy (CO2), Waste and Water Reduction experience. Physical Requirements While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer. Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout each day. There are times when you will need to walk throughout the manufacturing plant floor or walk between buildings, which includes but is not limited to walking outside, walking up and down stairs, walking across metal grates and potentially being in contact with slippery surfaces.
