Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our Environmental Department as an Environmental Manager at our corporate office in Moorhead, MN. The Environmental Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of environmental compliance, permitting, monitoring, and continuous improvement to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role provides technical expertise, strategic leadership, and operational support across manufacturing facilities while fostering strong collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Leadership teams. The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Championing a positive workplace through the Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability Ensuring adherence to environmental permits and regulatory obligations Directing environmental audits, inspections, and internal reviews for compliance Completing and submitting all required environmental reports and certifications Communicating with agencies, including inspection follow-up and responding to enforcement actions Assisting with incident response, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective measures Delivering environmental training and promoting awareness organization-wide Supporting capital projects from early design stages through launch to guarantee compliance with environmental standards Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and evaluating their impact on operations Regularly collaborate with engineering consulting firms regarding ongoing management of environmental activities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Frequent travel to company sites is required, as well as availability beyond regular work hours to address environmental and regulatory matters.
This position requires:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field and at least 7-10 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance or management within manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or energy settings.
Experience in:
Federal and state environmental regulations [e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act (NPDES/SDS), RCRA, RMP/PSM, Storage Tanks. Hazardous Materials, Solid Waste] Environmental permitting, reporting, and agency interactions Audits, inspections, and compliance tracking Leading environmental aspects of capital projects Regulatory applicability assessments Land application of by-products and landfill management Wastewater treatment Stack Testing Program management Prior supervisory or cross-functional leadership is preferred. Ongoing professional development in environmental regulations is required.
Compensation Range:
$154,062.40 - $192,578.15
