Job Description Are you an enthusiastic and team-oriented leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong interpersonal skills, and drive to create collaborative relationships with clients, teaming partners, managers, and in-house multi-disciplinary teams? We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Geotechnical Engineering and/or Testing/Inspection professional to lead and grow an established group within the Raleigh, NC market. The position will include oversight, direction, and growth of a team of project managers, senior technical engineers, technicians/inspectors, and support staff. Along with leadership of the team, this individual will be responsible for the overall performance of the department (P&L), client interaction, and some technical review. With a strong current workload and stable portfolio of projects to create a healthy stream of regular work, we are excited to see how your leadership skills, experience, interests, and established regional connections will expand the Raleigh geotechnical/testing/inspection group in new and exciting directions!
Responsibilities:
Develop and foster client relationships to grow ESP's presence in Raleigh and the eastern NC region Collaborate with and support other ESP disciplines and service lines in the Raleigh market Lead the practice to set and achieve profitability and growth goals Ensure quality service, consulting, and deliverables in a timely and efficient manner Prepare / review project contracts, invoices, and financial reports Take ownership of the department's overall performance (P&L), high-level client interaction, and technical review Instill / foster an environment of enjoyment in our working conditions Effectively manage client base and client satisfaction Business development and marketing of clients including networking and active participation in professional development forums Prepare and/or review proposals and technical reports Serve as a technical leader, providing expert technical advice as necessary Train and mentor Staff and Technicians Collaborate with and support other ESP services as a team member We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required. If registered in other states than North Carolina, individual must have the ability to obtain reciprocity in NC within 6 months Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering, materials testing and/or Special Inspections Displays strong technical skills in either Geotechnical Engineering or Testing/Inspection Results-oriented individual with superior skills in organization, planning and attention to detail Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills Displays strong leadership and personnel management skills Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills that will allow you to effectively and professionally interact with clients, approval authorities, governmental officials and the public. Firm understanding of risk management and loss prevention. Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with deadlines and ability to adjust to project priorities and demands of multiple clients. Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint and relevant technical software required), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
