Expert Level Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer Location / Work Type 100% Onsite Overland Park, KS or Cary, NC

  • Role Overview The Senior Identity & Access Management Engineer will lead the development, implementation, and governance of enterprise IAM platforms and controls while ensuring operational teams are enabled with clear processes and best practices.
This role works closely with IT, security, and business partners to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant identity solutions aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities IAM Strategy & Architecture Define and evolve the enterprise identity and access management strategy aligned to business objectives and regulatory requirements. Ensure IAM strategy balances security, scalability, usability, and operational efficiency. Evaluate and adopt emerging IAM technologies and industry best practices. Platform Design & Implementation Design and implement IAM platforms and solutions to support enterprise identity strategy. Integrate IAM solutions with existing applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments. Monitor platform performance and effectiveness, driving continuous improvement. Controls, Governance & Compliance Establish and enforce IAM controls to protect sensitive information and meet regulatory requirements. Develop policies and procedures for identity lifecycle management, including provisioning, de‑provisioning, and access reviews. Conduct audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Operational Enablement & Support Provide guidance, training, and support to operations teams on IAM processes and best practices. Partner with IT and security teams to troubleshoot and resolve identity‑related incidents. Create and maintain clear documentation, standards, and operating procedures for IAM processes. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in identity and access management or a related security discipline. Proven experience implementing IAM platforms in large, complex environments. Hands‑on experience with IAM technologies such as Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, OAuth , and related protocols. Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX ). Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred / Additional
Qualifications Experience defining and executing enterprise IAM strategies. Strong background in identity lifecycle management and access governance. Experience conducting IAM audits, assessments, and remediation initiatives. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into practical technical and operational solutions. Industry certifications such as
CISSP , CIAM
, or equivalent are a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cary, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $68.96 - $72.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
