Job Description

Certified Wetland Scientist:
Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Wetland Scientist to join our growing New Hampshire team, supporting municipal, transportation, residential, reclamation, & dam projects across New England. This role combines fieldwork, permitting, and regulatory coordination, working closely with engineers, planners, and environmental professionals to deliver compliant and sustainable project solutions. The position involves leading wetland delineations, environmental reviews, and permitting efforts while managing multiple projects and collaborating with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead wetland delineations, functional assessments, soil mapping, and ecological field investigations using federal and state methodologies Prepare technical reports, delineation documentation, environmental plans, and permit application materials Manage and coordinate environmental permitting at the local, state, and federal levels, including: Clean Water Act (Sections 401/404) Rivers and Harbors Act (Section 10) NHDES Wetlands Bureau and related NH programs Quantify impacts to wetlands and sensitive resources and develop mitigation and compliance strategies Conduct construction monitoring and site inspections to ensure compliance with permits and NPDES requirements Coordinate with regulatory agencies, Conservation Commissions, and project stakeholders to advance permitting Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project solutions Manage multiple projects concurrently, including schedule, budget, and client communication Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development Support business development efforts, including proposals and client engagement

Qualifications:
Required:
Experience in environmental consulting, wetland science, or ecological compliance Certification as a Wetland Scientist (PWS or NH CWS) Strong knowledge of federal and New Hampshire environmental regulations Experience with wetland delineation, environmental permitting, and construction compliance monitoring Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment Strong technical writing and reporting skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Field data collection and site investigation experience
