Job Description
As Global Principal for Water/Wastewater Emerging Issues and Research, you will part of a global team, developing strategy associated with industry challenges such as PFAS and microplastics, among others, as well as providing cross cutting applied research leadership for our global drinking water and wastewater teams. Your core internal and external leadership responsibilities will include: Guiding and implementing thought leadership activities to shape our differentiated brand, reputation, and value proposition externally. Facilitating, positioning and engagement in partnership with our internal (Jacobs) client account managers and sales teams to ensure Jacobs is the preeminent, trusted partner of choice for targeted new and existing core clients related to emerging issues and challenges in the industry. Providing leadership, in coordination with our internal (Jacobs) Subject Matter Experts and Global Solutions Directors (e.g., Tim Constantine), in the development of Jacobs funded internal research activities with the goal of developing both short-term and sustainable long-term ROI in terms of revenue, industry reputation, and relationships Providing leadership in positioning and engagement with external research entities and academia to develop new treatment approaches and market disrupting technologies across the drinking water and wastewater treatment space. Collaborating across the Jacobs Market Solutions organization to provide differentiated value. More specifically, your key responsibilities will include: Providing leadership in Jacobs' drinking water and wastewater treatment applied research efforts. Providing subject matter expertise (SME) to assist in the positioning for key pursuits and project delivery in project associated with Emerging Issues in the Water industry including PFAS, microplastics, and disinfection. Developing strategies to assist in positioning Jacobs as the preeminent thought leader and trusted advisor to clients in the Water industry. Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering or related 15 plus years' experience with drinking water treatment and wastewater treatment process designs, process studies, and related research Specific experience in emerging issues such as PFAS, microplastics, as well as experience with leading edge technologies and strategies (e.g. newer approaches to disinfection, biosolids management, etc.) Progressive consulting experience Active in professional organizations such as WEF, AWWA, and/or research organizations Ability to travel up 1-2 days a week on some weeks and then no travel at all on others. Ideally, you'll also have 20 plus years' experience with drinking water and wastewater treatment and have expert knowledge of emerging issues such as PFAS, microplastics, and leading-edge technologies and strategies Depth of experience in developing water/wastewater research, whether they be through in-house thought leadership development or through collaborations with academia and/or research institutions such as WRF PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related area No sponsorship is offered for this position.
